Eravikulam National Park

The very famous Eravikulam National Park is situated in Munnar. The park houses a great indigenous variety of flora and fauna. From the Nilgiris Tahr to the Lion Tailed Macaque, the park is home to a lot of endangered species which is one of the reasons why Eravikulam National Park is considered as one of the major attractions of Munnar. The floral wonder called the Neelakurunji, that blooms once in twelve years carpets a major portion of the National Park violet! You can also find the tributaries of Chalakudy and Periyar rivers flowing down the slopes of the park. The park is taken care of by the Kerala Department of Forest and Wildlife, Munnar. The Eravikulam National Park is situated in the Devikulam Taluk of Idukki, covering a total area of 97 sq.km. The best time to visit the Eravikulam National Park is during the winters. While you are at Eravikulam National Park, do not forget to visit the Lakkom Waterfalls which is located at a distance of 15km from the National Park. The park is situated at a distance of 13km away from the Munnar town and is just an hour's drive from Chithirapuram, where the Broad Bean Resort and Spa is situated. Price: An entry fee of INR 65 for Indian citizens and 245 for foreign nationals.

Timings: 7:30 AM to 4 PM on all the seven days of the week.

Distance from KSRTC Depot Munnar: Take down the Munnar - Udumalpet Rd for around 12 to 13 KM and you will find your destination.
